About Us: We are a well-established charitable organisation dedicated to supporting adults with learning disabilities in achieving their aspirations for how they wish to live, learn and work. We achieve this through our range of accommodation, personal development and training academy including our farm which is open to members of the public.


About You: As a Trustee, you will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction and governance of our charity. As a member of the Board, you will work closely with our senior management team to make informed decisions, provide guidance, and contribute to the overall development and success of the charity. Your expertise, commitment, and passion will help us continue to deliver impactful services for adults with learning disabilities.




Job requirements

Requirements:

  • A genuine passion for the well-being and empowerment of our beneficiaries.
  • Strong strategic thinking and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship
  • Ability to commit to approximately 10-15 hours per month for board meetings and additional tasks.
  • UK based, living within reasonable travelling distance of Ashford, Kent

We are particularly interested in people with a background in one or more of the following areas and those who may be considering taking on a chair role in the future:  


  • Legal Expertise, capable of shaping policies and advocating for system change
  • Strategic innovation, particularly those who can identify emerging trends and leverage opportunities for growth and impact
  • Financial professionals, strategic financial leaders with experience of optimising resources to drive long-term sustainability
  • Risk oversight, to guide risk management frameworks to safeguard operational interests  
  • Sector knowledge – understanding the unique challenges of the charity sector and navigating the regulatory landscape
