An opportunity to join COT, an ambitious charity supporting adults with learning disabilities, in a pivotal Director of Commercial Operations position.


As part of a recently appointed senior leadership team, you'll drive the modernisation of the organisation, focusing on commercial and business development strategies to drive income growth, and profitability of their working farm and associated visitor attraction. In addition, you'll take the lead with strategic management of the charity's estate and with health and safety initiatives, supported by a Head of Estates and Facilities.


The role is ideal for an ambitious commercial leader, motivated to make an impact in an ambitious charity. Candidates with previous experience in the retail sector (whether for-profit, or within another charity) would be particularly welcomed.

Job requirements

  1. Proven experience in a senior leadership role, with a track record of driving strategic initiatives and achieving results.
  2. Strong understanding of commercial activities and proven experience of driving growth and maximising revenue.
  3. Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate diverse teams.
  4. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  5. Proven experience in financial management, budgeting and resource allocation.
  6. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and protocols with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  7. An understanding of estates and facilities management with experience of overseeing complex operational environments.
  8. Proactive approach to ESG initiatives with a passion for integrating sustainable practices into organisations operations.
  9. A commitment to influencing positive impacts on society.
  10. Strategic vision, ability to analyse the whole picture and identify actions to improve performance.
  11. A commitment to ensuring inclusivity and accessibility in all initiatives with sensitivity of the needs and challenges faced by individuals with learning disabilities.
